Speakeasy Event At The Library

The Friends of the Athol Public Library are turning the Main Street vacant Library into a Speakeasy on Saturday, August 18 from 7 to 10 p.m. Purchase tickets for $15 at the APL! This event is open to the public over 21 years of age.

It’s 1920 – prohibition has hit the country and there’s nowhere to party – until now!

The Friends of the Athol Public Library are turning the Main Street vacant Library into a Speakeasy on Saturday, August 18 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. This is a chance to see the library empty and say goodbye to the building as we have known it for the many years it has served the town residents well.

Tickets are available at the newly opened Athol Senior Center/Public Library (next to Ocean State Job Lot), at town hall and at the door. Your secret password into the event will be given to you when you purchase tickets and Paul Robichaud will be on hand with his 1929 Buick (the same kind that was used by bank robbers in the 20's and 30's) to ensure that all who enter are 'safe' patrons. The event is open to the public over 21 years of age.
