Dear PC Doctor:

We have several family accounts on our PC. My son forgot his password, so he’s locked out of his account. Mine is the admin account, but I don’t see a way to manage his account and change the password like I used to with our old computer. How do I reset his password so he can get into his account? We’re running Windows 10.

Thanks,

Lexie

Dear Lexie:

You’re right – resetting account passwords is different in Windows 10. Try this:

Log in using your administrator account. On the keyboard, press the Windows key and R at the same time. In the box that opens in the lower left of your screen, type netplwiz. Press Enter. Click on the account for which you’d like to change the password. Click on Reset Password. Change the password.

I hope this helps!
Until next time,
Happy Computing!
