Robert Maier, Director of the Massachusetts State Board of Library Commissioners visited the Athol Public Library construction site on Friday, March 1. Members of the Library Construction Committee met with him to talk about progress and were taken around the site by Michael Luongo, the clerk of the works. Left to right: Construction Committee Chairman Carol Ambrozy, Trustee Susie Feldman, former town treasurer Ben Feldman, Library Director Deb Blanchard and Robert Maier. Mr. Maier was pleased to have the opportunity to see work in progress as he stated he usually gets invited to the grand opening to speak when the building is complete, but not to see the actual building happening.
