Mystery Making Event with Sisters in Crime
Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 7:00 pm at the Athol Public Library
In this interactive workshop, four mystery authors representing different sub-genres, including cozy/traditional and thriller/suspense brainstorm to create a brand new mystery, using suggestions from the audience. Fun, fast-paced, and fascinating, this improv game offers important insights into mystery writers’ minds and the conventions of the genre.
Our four guest mystery authors for the evening will be:
J.A. McIntosh, author of Judge Hartwell: A Meredith, Massachusetts Novel and Niagara Fontaine: A Meredith, Massachusetts Novel.
Clea Simon, author of five different mystery series featuring cats, a suspense novel, and three non-fiction titles focusing on true crimes and public safety officers’ experiences.
Sharon Healy-Yang, author of Bait & Switch, a mystery romance set in 1943, and sequels, Letter from a Dead Man, and Always Play the Dark Horse.
Kate Flora, author of 21 mysteries, including Death Comes Knocking and A World of Deceit, plus short stories and non-fiction.
