Let’s travel through time back to the 1920s. Join the Athol Public Library at 568 Main Street, Athol, on Thursday, April 30th at 6:30 p.m., when we welcome Christopher Daley for his slideshow presentation, The Roaring Twenties. Come in period dress: There will be a prize for the best dressed person. “From the world of fashion to the world of politics, forces clashed to produce the most explosive decade of the century.”
The Roaring Twenties: A historical presentation
The Roaring Twenties lecture is a one hour slideshow presentation that is entertaining, showcasing world events, political events, prohibition, and organized crime, as well as the style, fashion and trends of the Jazz Age. “It was the age of prohibition, it was the age of prosperity, and it was the age of downfall. It was the age of everything.”
Christopher Daley has been lecturing all over New England for more than twenty years. He received his Master’s Degree in Political Science and History from Bridgewater State University. He is a teacher at Silver Lake Regional School System in Kingston and he is currently writing a book, “Homicide in the Hub: Boston’s Most Notorious Murder Cases.” Daley resides in Wareham, MA with his wife Cathy.
The Friends of the Athol Public Library annual meeting will be held at 6:15 p.m., before the start of the program.
