Under the Portico on Wednesday, August 5, from 4:00 – 6:00.
Due to the inability for our patrons to come into the library or browse our used book sale room at this time, the staff and the Friends of the Athol Public Library have decided to offer an outdoor “Book and Material Give-A-Way!”
Books will be packaged in a bag and put on tables by genre. The subjects will range from children’s to cookbooks, mystery, history, popular fiction, YA, art, crafts, health/science and more!
The walk-through Give-A-Way will take place under the portico with social distancing and masks required. Participants will be invited to choose a bag and to keep the bag they have touched.
The Friends of the Library will also be offering a “Miscellaneous Table,” set up with a variety of items such as CDs, puzzles, and magazines. The public will be invited to choose what they would like and will be handed those items by a gloved and masked volunteer.
All items to be given away have been quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours.
It’s a win/win situation! You get new reading materials and the library gets more room for more items in the future. Hope to see you there!
Please wear your face covering at this event.
Many thanks to Hannaford and Ed the Wizard for donating the bags and to volunteer Pat Ray for organizing the books!
