Rain Barrel Raffle and Program
Raffle tickets are only $5 each!
Dan King and Emily Boughton, members of ATAC, the teen advisory group at the Athol Public Library, are preparing the barrels for the library “Recycle the Rain” rain barrel project.
With one of these unique barrels, you can conserve water by catching the rain which runs off your roof and using it to water your lawn or garden, to wash your car or your house, or to keep your compost moist. By purchasing a $5.00 raffle ticket at the library, you will have a chance to win one of five barrels which were created by Bill Thiem and which have been decorated by members of ATAC.
Five more barrels will be available for interested families to decorate on Thursday, June 17 and take home. Call the library to register for this program. Proceeds from the project will benefit the Friends of the Athol Public Library. This project is presented as part of the Athol Public Library’s “How Green is My Library” LSTA grant, brought to you with federal funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. For more information, call the Athol Public Library at 978-249-9515.
