Athol Daily News columnist Allen Young of Royalston will host a showing of the Film Free Spirits:  The Birth, Life, and Loss of a New Age Dream at the Athol Library.

The film begins at 7:00 pm.

Free Spirits is the story of the Brotherhood of the Spirit commune, led by Michael Metelica, which was located in Warwick in the early 1970s.

Former commune members David Star, Dale Sluter, and Jane and Alan Harris have agreed to participate in a conversation after the film.  Also attending will be filmmaker Bruce Geisler.

Area residents who remember the commune, (later called the Renaissance Community), as well as Metelica's band, are encouraged to attend and share memories.
