Dear PC Doctor:
I have written a 12 page short story and want to change the name of one of the main characters. I have Windows 7. Is there any way to do this on the computer to avoid a mistake which is certain if I have to make the change manually? I am changing the name from Bubba to Chad. Thanks for your input.
Sally
Dear Sally:
Thanks for your question!
Yes, there is an easy way to do this, assuming you’re working in Microsoft Word. Look to the top right corner of your document screen. There will be a little picture of a pair of binoculars next to the word “Find”. Click “Find”. You will get a window labeled “Find and Replace”. Click the tab labeled “Replace”. In the box next to “Find what” type “Bubba”. In the box next to “Replace with” type “Chad”. Then, Click “Replace All”. Word will automatically change every “Bubba” to Chad”. Voila!
Until next time,
Happy Computing!
