Dear PC Doctor:

I am a computer newbie and would love to see a list of common keyboard commands and how to use them. I'm not getting the hang of using the mouse and I think keyboard commands will make things easier for me. I use Windows.

Thanks,

Dear Gavin:

Here goes!

Ctrl C = Copy

Ctrl X = Delete

Ctrl V = Paste

Ctrl P = Print

Ctrl S = Save

Ctrl A = Select All

Ctrl Z = Undo

Ctrl Y = Redo

Ctrl + Right Arrow = Move the cursor to the beginning of the next word

Ctrl + Left Arrow = Move the cursor to the beginning of the previous word

Ctrl + Down Arrow = Move the cursor to the beginning of the next paragraph

Ctrl + Up Arrow = Move the cursor to the beginning of the previous paragraph

Windows M = Minimize all windows

There are many more! If you do an internet search for “Windows keyboard shortcuts” you will get a comprehensive list.

Until next time,
Happy Computing!
