Dear PC Doctor:
I am really excited about the Castle Rock TV show being filmed in Orange! I heard it won’t be on regular television, but will be on Hulu and I’ll need a computer to watch it. What is Hulu? Do I need a computer? When will the show be on?
Thanks,
Stephen
Dear Stephen:
Castle Rock is what’s known as an original Hulu series. It’s only going to be shown on Hulu; your regular cable provider won’t have it. According to Variety, no premiere date has been set, though the series is expected to debut some time in 2018. You can watch the trailer here: https://www.hulu.com/castle-rock
There are two kinds of Hulu: Hulu and Hulu Plus. Both are ways to watch video over the internet. Hulu is free. Hulu Plus has a monthly fee. Generally speaking, the free Hulu version lets you watch a few episodes of a series, whereas Hulu Plus gives you access to quite a bit more. You can also pay an extra fee on top of Hulu Plus to avoid ads.
You don’t necessarily need a computer; according to the Hulu website, Hulu works on Mac or PC, Android TV, Apple TV, Playstation 3 and 4, Roku, Xbox 360, Vizio TVs and many other devices. You do need internet. Hulu does eventually release some of its programs on DVD and Blu-ray so, if you don’t mind waiting, you can always go that route.
I hope this helps!
Until next time, happy computing!
