Dear PC Doctor:

I have a Nook e-reader and home wifi. The Nook just keeps disconnecting. It doesn’t stay connected long enough to download any of the books I’ve purchased from Barnes and Noble. What can I do to get it to work?

Thanks,

Disconnected

Dear Disconnected:

If your wifi is working fine for your computer and other devices, try completely powering down your Nook. Let it stay off for about ten seconds and then power on again. If the wifi is giving your other devices trouble, too, you can try doing the same with your router. You could also try going somewhere that has strong wifi and try downloading the books there.

Barnes and Noble also recommends checking that your Nook has the latest software version. If none of these things work, you can try contacting Barnes and Noble customer service. They have email, telephone, and chat options on their website.

While we have you here – Did you know that, once you get your Nook connected to the internet, you can use your library card to get free e-books and e-audiobooks to read on your Nook? You can find instructions at help.overdrive.com or ask at the library.

I hope this helps!
Until next time,
Happy Computing!
