Athol Public Library employee Kelsey Matthews is checking out a copy of the book The Orchard by Adele Crockett Robertson for Janet Goldsmith. This is the book which has been selected for the library On the Same Page community reading program. It is a memoir written by a woman who struggled to keep a family orchard going in Ipswich, Massachusetts during the Great Depression. It is the story of one woman’s courage and her devotion to her childhood home and farm. A discussion of the book featuring apple snacks will be held at the library on Tuesday, February 2 from 5:30 to 6:30.
