Dear PC Doctor:

My computer has Windows 10. Every time I turn it on, it shows me some picture of a beautiful place in the world. It’s nice, but when I turn on my computer it is because I have work to do. The picture feature slows me down and is becoming more annoying than interesting. Is it possible to turn this off?

Thanks,

Ready to Work

Dear Ready:

Give this a try. Open your Windows Settings by typing Settings in the search box on the bottom left of your start up screen. Then, choose Personalization. Click Lock Screen. In the pull-down menu that lists Windows Spotlight, change it to Picture and choose the picture you want.

Below that, you may also see a radio button and the words Get fun facts, tips and more from Windows and Cortana on your lock screen. Slide the button to the left so it’s gray and no longer blue.

I hope this helps!
Until next time,
Happy computing!
