Dear PC Doctor:

I am bad at texting (big fingers), so if I’m home I read and send my messages on my computer. There are so many now, and it’s confusing and cluttered. I know how to delete them on my phone, but I don’t know how to delete them on the computer. It’s an imac. Can you help?

Thanks,

Lenny

Dear Lenny:

Here’s how to delete text messages from your imac computer: First, open the messages app on your computer. Choose the conversation you want to delete. Move your pointer over it and click. The choice to Delete should appear. Click to delete!

You can also set up your messages to automatically delete after a set period of time. To arrange this, choose Messages and then Preferences, click General. Then click the Keep messages pop-up menu and choose a length of time. This will set how long your account keeps your messages. If you choose an option other than Forever, your conversations (including all attachments) will automatically be removed after the specified time period is over.

I hope this helps!
Until next time,
Happy computing!
PC Doctor
