Dear PC Doctor:
I turned on my computer the other day and this weird thing I’ve never seen before showed up. It says HP Wolf. I’ve never seen it before and I didn’t install it. Should I be worried? What is it?
Thanks,
Trey
Dear Trey:
Good news! You don’t need to be afraid of HP Wolf!
HP is Hewlett-Packard, the computer company. HP Wolf was introduced in May of this year. It includes HP Sure Sense and HP Sure Click, which might sound familiar. HP Sure Sense automatically scans any file that is downloaded, installed, or copied to your computer and checks for malicious files and malware. If you decide they are safe, you can move them out of quarantine. HP Sure Click protects your computer when you browse the internet.
If you decide you want to turn off HP Wolf security, search for Add or remove programs in the Windows Start menu. Select HP Wolf Security from the Apps & features list. Press the Uninstall button to uninstall the software.
I hope this helps.
Until next time,
Happy Computing!
