Bright Star Children's Theatre Presents: Gus Goes Green
Thursday, April 21, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Bright Star Touring Theatre, a national professional touring theatre company based in Asheville, NC, is visiting Athol with a public performance of their acclaimed show Gus Goes Green: A STEM Adventure. Gus, a giant dog puppet, leads the audience on a STEM-inspired adventure around the globe. He uses clever resources to find creative solutions for a thirsty man in the desert, a wacky inventor, a toy maker, and one very funny bug. Audience volunteers join Gus on stage to engineer a device for gathering water, build a unique toy from recycled materials and more! By the end of the play, Gus and his friends use Science, Technology, Engineering and Math to find smart solutions to real-life issues. This show is designed to encourage young people to help the Earth through recycling, energy conservation, and creative thinking.

Registration encouraged, but not required. All ages.

Block Printing for Kids
Friday, April 22, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Block printing is an ancient craft that uses a carved material to transfer ink onto a surface. (Think rubber stamps!) While this typically includes sharp carving tools, there is a kid-friendly technique that simply uses foam and a pencil! Join us for an hour of print-making while we learn about and practice this fun art form!
Registration required. Ages 5-11.

You’ll also find a scavenger hunt, guessing contests, a drop-in craft, toys, free used books, and more all month long in the Children’s Room.
