YA Banned Book Discussion

Tuesday October 3 from 4:00 - 5:00 pm

ALA.org Banned Books image of an open book with the text We Read Banned Books.

Every year the library celebrates Banned Books Week. The whole book community gets involved in sharing support for the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.

Banned Books Week draws attention to the harms of censorship. The whole week celebrates your freedom to choose what you want to read and borrow from the library.

Choose any banned or challenged book from our display (or from the American Library Association's list of Top 13 Most Challenged Books) to read. Then join us on October 3rd to discuss your thoughts, learn about book bans, and celebrate your freedom to read.

Free and open to teens ages 12-18.
