What is a Kid Librarian?
A Kid Librarian is someone between ages 8-11 who has been chosen to create a book display!

How can my child become a Kid Librarian?
Come to the library to fill out a paper application and permission slip. When it’s your child's turn, The Children’s Librarian will call you and schedule a time for your kiddo to come in and create their display.

What will my child get out of participating?
Getting to be a Kid Librarian will give your child a sense of ownership of the library (the library belongs to all of us!) and a chance to be active and involved in the community. This program helps promote reading and the joy of free choice books. They will get to connect with library staff and ask any questions they have about librarianship.

What else do I need to know?
We will be taking a picture of your child next to their display to share both in print at the library and on social media. If you do not want your child's face on the internet, we will censor it for social media posts (with a cute graphic or emoji). More information on privacy can be found on the application.

We will be collecting applications all throughout the month of February!
