In addition to our usual monthly scavenger hunt, we'll have a second scavenger hunt available during February vacation! Stop by the Children's Room any time between Tuesday, February 20, and Saturday, February 24, for the special scavenger hunt!
Story Walk
9:30-3:30, all ages
Valuing Our Children provides our weekly Story Walk! Bring your kiddos for a stroll around the second floor of the library as you read a picture book, board-by-board.
Chess Club
6:00-8:00, all ages
Join coaches Dave and Clint for the weekly Chess Club library. Learn the classic game from experienced players or find new opponents to challenge.
Wednesday
Coloring Chaos
All day, ages 0-11 (and their families)
The tables in the Children's Room will be covered in Coloring Chaos! We'll have all kinds of coloring projects available all day, including a tablecloth for a community coloring project!
Story Time
10:00-10:30, ages 3-5
Join River for Story Time! We'll read books, sing songs, watch a short movie, and make a craft! Story Time is best for children ages 3-5, but any child who can enjoy a picture book will enjoy Story Time.
Amazing creatures have amazing adaptations! And what better way for kids to discover these concepts than through hands-on experiences with a whole zoo of exotic invertebrates? Professor Bugman will return to the Athol Public Library with his traveling petting zoo of (not-so) creepy crawlies! Can you create and draw your own arthropod with its own special adaptations?
Friday
Baby & Toddler Time
11:00-11:45, ages 0-3
Baby & Toddler Time promotes early literacy and togetherness through singing, reading, and playing! This program gives caregivers time to play and bond with their babies as well as an opportunity to meet other members of the community and their little ones. We will sing songs, read a book, and put toys out for unstructured play time.
Bring your stuffie to the library any time between 3:00-5:00. Get them ready for the sleepover by filling out their permission slip, making them a bed, and reading them a story before leaving them at the library. Over the weekend, follow their antics on social media. Pick them up as early as Saturday morning and hear about their adventures!
