Comic Book Fest Cosplay Contest
Saturday, October 5 at 1:00 pm at the Athol Town Hall
Step one- pick a character from your favorite book, show, movie, game, anime, or YouTube channel. Step 2 - create a costume that looks like that character. Mix and match items from your closet, upgrade an old costume, try face paint or a wig, create props from recycled materials; the possibilities are endless! Step 3 - join us at the Comic Book Fest on October 5 and show off your look!
Contest Rules and Guidelines
- Winners will be determined by a panel of Comic Book Fest judges.
- Each contestant may only enter one costume into the competition.
- Preference given to cosplays and costumes that are homemade.
- Nudity, obscene or graphic content, or other elements deemed inappropriate to the spirit of the competition will disqualify contestants.
- Professional costumers, or those who run a business of commission-based cosplay, are encouraged to show off their costumes at the Comic Book Fest but should not enter the competition.
- Contestants will be judged according to their costume’s resemblance to the character it is based on, representation of their costume, craftsmanship skills, and creativity.
- Check in at the Comic Book Fest entry table in the Athol Town Hall between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2023.
- Registration is free
Three age categories: 0-11, 12-19, 20+
Prizes generously provided by the Friends of the Athol Public Library:
First Place $30
Second Place $20
Third Place $10
The contest will take place during the Comic Book Fest (10am-3pm) where the Athol Town Hall and library will be transformed into a comic book lover’s dream. With comics, artist panels, vendors, cosplay, games, crafts, and more there will be something for everyone at this family friendly event. Free for all ages.
