Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 6:00-7:00. Required Registration!
Join the Athol Public Library at 568 Main Street, Athol, on Thursday, October 2 from 6:00-7:00 pm, when we welcome Sourdough Brandon as he teaches us to make our very own sourdough starter.
Learn how to make, maintain, and store a sourdough starter from an expert sourdough baker and food blogger, SourdoughBrandon.com. You’ll leave with many tips and tricks for how to keep your sourdough starter active, what to make with your starter, and even leave with some free sourdough starter!
Brandon has taught this workshop at over 50 libraries in Massachusetts and given out more than 1,700 sourdough starters at these workshops. Brandon is from North Carolina but currently resides in one of the tiny hill towns in Western MA.
This program is free and open to the public. This workshop is limited to a certain number of participants (so we know how much starter to provide). Registration is Required!
You can register online with our library calendar: Athol Library Calendar-Sourdough Brandon or by calling, 978-249-9515.
You will receive an email confirmation, and an email reminder of the event 24 hours before the program. Questions? Please call the library at 978-249-9515.
This program was sponsored in part by the Athol Cultural Council which is a part of the MA Cultural Council, a state agency, and in part by a grant from the Friends of the Athol Public Library!
