Discussion: A book that could be considered taboo

Thursday, August 20 @ 5:00

Cartoon, see, hear, speak no evil, 3 monkeys.

The theme for August is: a book that could be considered taboo.

What makes a book taboo? Do the characters flaunt societal norms? Does the storyline challenge our beliefs? Does it show us parts of our world and culture that would typically be in the shadows? Does the book share information that is supposed to be secret or limited? Does it make you think? How do you feel while reading it?

Read any book you like that you think fits this theme.
If you'd like help choosing a book, come see us on the 2nd floor of the library, where we have a display set up.

Bring your book and your thoughts to our easygoing discussion on the third Thursday of the month at 5:00 pm.

Even if you don't join us in person, log your reading at the website for the MA Center for the Book so you can be entered into the prize drawing: https://mareadingchallenge.org/
No need to register. Just join us!
