Quick Energy Tips from Your Green Library
Great ways to go green for little or no cost! New tip every Sunday.
Update your toilet!
Find out how old your toilet is by looking for the date stamp under the tank lid. On average, toilets manufactured before 1980 use 5 - 7 gallons of water per flush. Those made prior to 1992 use about 3.5 gallons per flush. Today’s standard toilets use 1.6 gallons per flush. You can save more than 20,000 gallons of water each year (and save on your water bill) just by updating your toilet!
