Food For Fines on April 8

The Athol Public Library announces Food for Fines on April 8!

On the day before the North Quabbin Food-a-thon (April 8), during library open hours, patrons may donate non-perishable food items in order to bring down their overdue fines.

One non-perishable food item (such as a can of soup) will equal one dollar of waived overdue fines. No expired items will be accepted.

We cannot waive any Interlibrary Loan fines, or fines resulting from lost or damaged items.

Food for Fines will run from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on April 8 only.

9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

*Donations cannot be accepted any other time.*

What:

One donated food item (can, box) removes $1 in overdue fines from your library record.

NO donations in lieu of replacement costs or out-of-C/W MARS ILLs.

Limited to overdue fines.

About the food:

Food must be non-perishable.

Food must be within its 'use by' date (not expired).

Where will the food go?:

All of the donations will become part of the North Quabbin Food-a-thon, benefiting six local food pantries located in Athol, Orange, and Wendell.
