Dear PC Doctor,
Is there a way to change the default web browser on my computer? Whenever I click a link in an email or click, an icon on my desktop that sends me to a website my computer opens up Internet Explorer instead of Firefox which is what I prefer to view it with.

Dear Stephanie,
Your computer seems to have Internet Explorer set up as your default web browser, which happens to be the default setting for most Windows computers.
Click the Firefox button in the upper left of your Firefox window that you have open. From there, click Options then click on the General tab. At the bottom of the list of settings, check the box for “Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup” then click OK. Close all the Firefox windows you have open and then start Firefox up again. This time it will ask if you would like to make Firefox your default web browser. Follow the instructions to finish setting Firefox as your default web browser.
All the icons on your desktop should now change to a Firefox icon to reflect that they will open up in Firefox.
Good luck!

Until next time… happy computing!
