Join local expert Shelley Small to learn how we can attract and support native pollinators in our back yards.

Shelley will discuss native pollinators and why we should care about caterpillars. She will also address what’s going on with native bees, how many species there are, the difference between native bees and domestic bees, and why the difference matters. Following the talk, there will be time for questions.

Shelley Small was the Pollinator Coordinator for the northeast region U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and was directly involved in establishing pollinator gardens on national wildlife refuges.

Tony Leger of Foothill Farm will have seedlings of some of Shelley’s favorite pollinator-supporting plants available for purchase at this program. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Athol Public Library.

Free and Open to the Public.

Registration is required; please reserve your spot by calling (978) 249-9515.
