Dear PC Doctor,

In the new Hotmail set up, is there a way to undelete a message?  I accidentally deleted a whole bunch of important emails and I’d like to undo it.  I found them in the Deleted folder but I’m not sure how to get them back.  I’m worried that they’ll soon be erased from the Deleted folder and I’ll be out of luck.

Dear Ken,

Of course, there is definitely a way to undo deleting a message from the Deleted folder in the new Hotmail/Outlook.  First go to your Deleted folder and check the little box next to all the messages you’d like to restore.  (Hint, click the little box at the top next to “View: All” to select all the messages).  In the menu bar at the top of the page, click “Move to” and then click “Inbox” to move the messages back to your Inbox.

Try to move your messages back to your inbox as soon as you realize your mistake was made.  Microsoft says they periodically clean out the deleted folder so you can’t be sure how long it will be available for restore.

Good luck! PC Doctor

Until next time… happy computing!
