It's 2018 - In 1918, librarian Miss May Cook could not have imagined makerspace programs, library pollinator gardens, teen library takeovers, the internet, food in the library, the need for a parking lot, or even female staff being allowed to wear pants!

We love all these newfangled library services! We're so glad staff and patrons had the imaginations to think them up.

It's time to put on your thinking caps and imagine the library of 2118. One hundred years goes by faster than you think. Will we have flying bookshelves? Instant home delivery of any text? Literary tales you experience by smell? Intravenous classics? What will the library space look like? what activities will bring the people of Athol 2118 to the Athol Library?

We invite you to express your predictions through art or writing - All entries will be part of an exhibit during December, and prizes will be awarded at a reception on Thursday, December 27.

You may express your vision in any 2 dimensional or 3 dimensional art format, or in writing. Written entries must be typed and no longer than 3 pages. If 2-D, entry must be framed and ready to hang with a horizontal wire on the back.

Your creation must fit inside the library and be able to safely be on display. Do not include valuables or dangerous parts. All entries may be used in library publicity. Please record your name and age on the back. All ages are invited to participate!

Submit your entry between December 1 and December 10, 2018. Voting begins on December 10, and the winner will be declared at the Library Open House on December 21.
