Dear PC Doctor:
I’m new to Facebook and just went on a trip and got an email message from them saying that someone tried to log onto my account from another location or something and they are locking my account. What does that mean?
Tom
Dear Tom:
Facebook will remember the computer that you typically log on from. If you traveled and used a public computer or a family computer (not your own), it will detect that this is an unfamiliar (to you) attempt to log on from a different than normal location. To fix it, do not click on the email link (just to be sure that it is from Facebook and not a malicious attempt to cause problems), just log in again. If you think it might be a hacking attempt, then log in and change your password.
PC Doctor
Until next time… happy computing!
