How important is it to run updates?  I never do it, and I was wondering.

Dear Lisa:

Running updates is important.  Most often, Microsoft sends updates to close security loopholes, provide critical updates and protect against a variety of online threats.

Running updates is easy to do.

Click “Start.”

Click “Control Panel.”

Click “Windows Update.”

If you want to have the computer run your updates automatically, click “Change Settings” and choose “Install updates automatically” from the pull-down menu.  Then, click “OK.”
