Dear PC Doctor:

I work in a group office and sometimes have to deal with confidential files.  If I have to step away from my desk, is there an easy way to secure my computer so people walking by can’t see what I’m working on?  I don’t want to have to shut down my computer, as I’ll be right back.

      Thank you, Celeste

Dear Celeste:

Sure!  Just before stepping away, use the “Lock Computer” keyboard command.  Press the Windows key and L at the same time.  If you normally log on to your computer with a password, when you return just type that it into the login screen and you’re back to work.  If you don’t, it will bring up a screen where you can press CTRL-ALT-DELETE and then log back in with the user name and password you enter when Windows starts up.

Until next time… Happy Computing!
