Dear PC Doctor:

A friend’s Facebook account was breached and they sent me one of those fb messages that has a video in it that you shouldn’t click. I knew it looked suspicious so I didn’t open it. But it’s still in my fb messages – How do I get rid of it? Can fb messages be deleted?

Thanks,

Nan

Dear Nan:

How smart you are not to open that link! Here’s how to delete unwanted Facebook messages:

Sign in to your Facebook account. Click to open your list of messages. To delete a conversation from Facebook: Open the conversation you want to delete. Click “Options” (the little cog) at the top of the chat window and scroll all the way down to the bottom of the list that appears. Choose “Delete Conversation.” You will be prompted to click “Delete Conversation” again. The messages will no longer be visible in your account. They will still be visible in the account of the other people involved in the conversations until they choose to delete them as well.

I hope this helps!
Until next time,
Happy computing!
