Dear PC Doctor:

I love listening to audiobooks! I’ve started using the Libby app, which is just fantastic. My problem is that I sometimes listen at bedtime, and I fall asleep. When I used CDs, the book would just play until the end of the disc. With digital audio, it can go until the end of the story if I don’t wake up and pause things. Is it possible to tell Libby to play one chapter, or to stop after a certain amount of time?

Thanks,

Rosetta

Dear Rosetta:

Great question! And, what a wonderful thing to fall asleep listening to a good story.

Libby has a timer you can set. Open your audiobook. At the top of your screen, you’ll see the Back button, the speed setting, a crescent moon, and a bookmark. Tap the moon and drag your finger down. The screen will change to a black background and a vertical bar with time increments. Choose the amount of time you would like the audiobook to continue and take your finger off the screen. Above the moon, it should now show you the amount of time you’ve chosen. Now, you can fall asleep knowing you won’t miss the whole story.

I hope that helps!
Until next time,
Happy Computing!
